Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”
Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Featured Artists
The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in September. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the performance was cut from the show due to the event running long.
The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.
Production and Release
Lullaby was crafted by a team of producers and composers. The song blends a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.
The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.
“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”
The situation in the area was described as its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be destroyed or damaged.
“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”
The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a digital service from later in the month.
