Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.
My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
