Former British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Undergo Parliamentary Inquiry After Assertions of Prejudice in Disclosed Memo
We open with queries from Conservative MP the committee chair, who oversees the group.
She initiates by providing context to the disclosed memorandum prepared by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.
"I don't want the BBC slanting this way or that way, I simply desire it neutral, unbiased and fair," he declares.
In response to a query whether he considers the BBC is systematically partial, Prescott responds: "No I don't. It is important to note, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is exceptional - including informative and fictional programming."
Nevertheless, he states: "There exists significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."
The second former external British Broadcasting Corporation adviser interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it operates a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding evolving and intricate issues.
"Was the BBC prepared to conduct a proper discussion and debate and take action?" she asks herself. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
