Los Angeles Erupts in Jubilation as Los Angeles Dodgers Claim Second World Series Victory
Los Angeles experienced widespread celebrations after the Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series title. Fans worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Turnout
Local events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Online footage show thousands of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an translator.
The procession path concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue vintage Cadillac around the field.
Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses
Celebrations started well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the victory.

Mixed Reactions and City Unity
However, the team owner received a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him taking the stage to a mix of applause and jeers, with negative shouts interrupting his speech.
The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
