Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, generating strong winds topping 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both regions.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
