Three In Contention for Young Sports Star Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
The Football Star

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
